ב-4 באפריל 2016 הושק פורטל הנתונים החדש של ארה"ב DATA USA .
הפורטל הוא פרי שיתוף פעולה של מעבדת המדיה של MIT ושתי חברות טכנולוגיות Deloitte ו- Datawheel. הצוות המפתח שכלל חוקרים , מדעני נתונים, מעצבים וחוקרים עבד על הפרויקט למעלה משנה, והתוצאה היא בהתאם.
הפורטל מרכז מקורות מידע פדרלי רבים למקום אחד . באתר יש מנוע חיפוש שמאפשר חיפוש בכול המקורות וסינון מראש על פי 4 קטגוריות מקומות, תעשיות, מקצועות/משלח יד, וחינוך. המאפיין הבולט בפרויקט הוא ההצגה הויזואלית המפורטת של הנתונים והמנשק המאוד ידידותי יחסית למנשקים קודמים. הפורטל מהווה פלטפורמה שהופכת את המידע לידע ויכול לשרת מדי יום את התושבים, התעשייה והממשלה. מאפשר שימוש ב- API
